The Rebelution Is On!!

Even when you are sick or not feeling your best, a afternoon of Basketball can be a refreshing experience. The only thing better then just one game is a Woman's and Men's doubleheader at the Thomas and Mack Center. Today was such a case.

Tickets to the Lady Rebels game were good for a balcony seat for the later Runnin' Rebels game.

The Lady Rebels (pictured on right) won their only game this season on Tarkanian Court, beating Southern Utah 71-58.

The Lady Rebels got lucky on this one! More so then the final scored shows. They have work to do before facing UNR on Friday, the 3rd of a 5 game home stand.

They started the game with a 19 - 2 run. At onetime The Lady Rebels even had a 31 point advantage as well.

The 3 biggest areas for improvement are 1) was committing fouls, 2) not boxing out or getting the rebound, and 3) relying on the three -point shot to much.

Southern Utah made most of it points off of second or third chance shots.

When in the Thomas and Mack Center my seats are about 15 feet away for the Rebels' bench, so I well aware that the Coaching Staff was seeing the same things. Coach Olivier is very vocal.

My Children have always love cheerleaders. My daughter wants to be one, like her mom. This is not a passing phase as she wanted this almost as long as she could express herself. My son is starting to notice and admire beauty. In between games, I was able to get a picture with my children and the UNLV Cheerleaders.

The UNLV Men's Basketball Team is known as the Runnin' Rebels. They are the two time defending Mountain West Conference Tournament Champions.

The men started off slow, but once they got warmed up and the crowd into it they never really looked back. The Runnin' Rebels beat Texas - Pan American, 73 -48.

During the first half of this game their seemed to be many ties, and lead changes. I'm not sure exactly how many in total.

My Friend who attends games with me, Steven, is handicapped. So we didn't watch the game from the balcony. Instead, after the start of the game, we found a spot in the special handicapped sections off the main concourse.

Steven treated me to one of the best Taco Salad I have ever had, and a Diet Pepsi for dinner. I got a Kid's meal for my children. This is a Rebel Dog, Small Popcorn, and small soda.

It was a Great Evening !!
